Part I – PRELIMINARY
1. Short title
This Act may be cited as the Physiotherapists Act.2. Interpretation
In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires—"approved institution" means the Kenya Medical Training College, institutions established under the Universities Act (Cap. 210), and the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Act (Cap. 210A) and such other training institution as the Council may approve;"Cabinet Secretary"means the Cabinet Secretary for the time being responsible for matters relating to health;"Council"means the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya established by section 3;"physiotherapy" also referred to as "physical therapy" means the application of physiotherapy knowledge, skill and judgment by a physiotherapist to obtain, regain or maintain optimal health and functional performance and includes but is not limited to—Part II – THE PHYSIOTHERAPY COUNCIL OF KENYA

8. Delegation by the Council
The Council may, by resolution generally or in any particular case, delegate to any committee of the Council the exercise of any of the powers or the performance of any of the functions or duties of the Council under this Act.9. Remuneration of Council members
The Council shall pay its members such allowances for expenses as may be determined by the Cabinet Secretary upon the advice of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.10. The Registrar

The Council may appoint such officers and other staff or hire such experts as may be necessary for the proper discharge of its functions under this Act, upon such terms and conditions of service as the Council may determine upon the advice of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.12. The financial year of the Council shall be the period of twelve months ending on the thirtieth June in each year.15. Annual estimates

The Council may invest any of the funds of the Council in securities, in which for the time being trustees may by law invest trust funds, or in any other securities or banks which the Treasury may, from time to time, approve for that purpose.18. Annual report

The Council may refer a matter to the Disciplinary Committee if it has reason to believe that a person registered under this Act has been, either before or after he was registered—30. Functions of the Committee

A person convicted of an offence under this Act for which no penalty is provided shall, on conviction, be liable to a fine not exceeding thirty thousand shillings or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three months, or to both.39. Rules
