1.This Order may be cited as the Privileges and Immunities (African Reinsurance Corporation) Order.
2.The African Reinsurance Corporation, in this Order referred to as "the Corporation", being an institution in which the Government of Kenya and other African Union Governments are members, is declared to be an organization to which section 9 of the Act shall apply.
3.The Corporation shall have the legal capacity of a body corporate to —
(a)enter into contracts;
(b)institute and defend legal proceedings; and
(c)acquire, hold or dispose of movable and immovable property in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Kenya.
4.The Corporation shall have the privileges and immunities specified in Part 1 of the Fourth Schedule to the Act.
5.Any person who is an employee of the Corporation shall, while residing in Kenya and performing duties in the service of the Corporation, have privileges and immunities specified in paragraphs 1 to 7 of Part III of the Fourth Schedule to the Act:Provided that the provisions of this paragraph shall not apply to citizens of Kenya or to any person who is ordinarily resident in Kenya.
6.The Privileges and Immunities (African Reinsurance Corporation) Order, 1989 is revoked.
