(1)This Order may be cited as the Union of Veterinary Practitioners Kenya (Collection of Union Dues) Order.
(2)An employer who employs more than five members of the Union of Veterinary Practitioners Kenya shall—
(a)deduct, on a monthly basis, the sum specified in the Schedule in respect of trade union dues from the wages of each employee who is a member of the Union of Veterinary Practitioners Kenya;
(b)remit, within ten days of the date of the deduction, the total sums deducted by crossed cheque or electronic funds transfer payable to the Union of Veterinary Practitioners Kenya Account Number 1222939126 at the Kenya Commercial bank Limited, Moi Avenue Branch, Nairobi;
(c)commence deducting the sum deducted under subparagraph (a) within thirty days of being served with this Order by the Union of Veterinary Practitioners Kenya;
(d)notify the Union of Veterinary Practitioners Kenya in writing within one month of remitting the sum deducted under subparagraph (a) in accordance with subparagraph (b); and
(e)make written submissions to the Registrar of Trade Unions at P.O. Box 40326-00100, Nairobi, within one month of making all the payments to the trade union.

SCHEDULE

SUMS DEDUCTED

A sum of six hundred and seventy shillings or an equivalent of 1.5% of each member’s basic salary per month, whichever is the higher.
