1.This Order may be cited as the Kenya Shipping, Clearing, Freight Logistics and Warehouse Workers Union (Collection of Union Dues) Order.
2.An employer who employs more than five members of the Kenya Shipping, Clearing, Freight Logistics and Warehouse Workers Union shall—
(a)deduct, on a monthly basis, a sum equal to two percent of the consolidated wages of an employee who is a member of the Kenya Shipping, Clearing, Freight Logistics and Warehouse Workers Union, in respect of the trade union dues of the member;
(b)remit, within ten days of the date of deduction, the total sum deducted under subparagraph (a) by crossed cheque or electronic funds transfer to Kenya Shipping, Clearing, Freight Logistics and Warehouse Workers Union's Account Number 1106515110 held at Kenya Commercial Bank Limited, Treasury Square Branch, Mombasa;
(c)commence deducting the sum deducted under subparagraph (a) within thirty days of being served with this Order by the Kenya Shipping, Clearing, Freight Logistics and Warehouse Workers Union;
(d)notify the Kenya Shipping, Clearing, Freight Logistics and Warehouse Workers Union in writing within one month of remitting the sum deducted under subparagraph (a) in accordance with subparagraph (b); and
(e)file returns with the Registrar of Trade Unions at post office box number 40326-00100, Nairobi within one month of remitting all the sums deducted under subparagraph (a) in accordance with subparagraph (b).
3.Gazette Notice No. 6324 of 10th July, 2006 (G.N. 6324/2006) is revoked.
