1. Citation

These Rules may be cited as the Kenya National Examinations Council (Examination Fees and Other Charges) Rules.

2. Interpretation

In these Rules unless the context otherwise requires—"examination fees" means a fee charged by the Council to a person registering for a Council examination."chargeable service" means a service other than examination offered by the Council at a fee;

3. Charging of examination fees and other charges

(1)The Council shall charge fees for purpose of administering examinations and other chargeable services provided by the Council.
(2)The Council shall determine the fees charged for examinations and other chargeable services provided by the Council.
(3)The Council may review the examination fees and other charges from time to time.
(4)The Council shall publish examination fees and other charges charged by the Council.

4. Mode of payment

(1)The Council shall determine and communicate the mode of payment for the examination fees and other chargeable services offered by the Council.
(2)A person wishing to be registered as a candidate or seeking Council chargeable services shall pay the prescribed fees in the prescribed mode to the Council.
(3)A person that has made a payment to the Council shall present to the Council the original payment receipt as evidence of having made the payment.

5. Withdrawal from examinations

(1)The Council shall not refund a candidate any amount of examination fees paid if the candidate withdraws from an examination.
(2)Fees paid shall not be transferred to another candidate or carried forward to another examination year.

6. Transfer fees

A candidate, who wishes to transfer from one examination centre to another, shall pay a transfer fee prescribed by the Council within sixty days after the close of registration

7. Remarking fee

A candidate or an institution applying for remarking of the Council's examinations shall pay the prescribed examination remarking fees.

8. Chargeable services

The Council shall from time to time determine chargeable services.
