IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 47 of the Interpretation and General Provisions Ordinance the Governor hereby declares that, for the purposes of all written laws, the titles of the officers specified in the first column of the Schedule to this Notice shall with effect from 1st September 1963 be replaced by the titles specified in relation thereto in the second column of the said Schedule.

[L.N. 599/1963]IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 47 of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, the Governor-General hereby declares that, for the purposes of all written laws, the title of Director of Economics and Statistics shall, with effect from the 1st July 1964, be replaced by the title Chief Statistician.[L.N. 184/1964]IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 47 of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, the Governor-General hereby declares that, for the purposes of all written laws, the title of Chief Hydraulic Engineer shall, with effect from the 1st July 1964, be replaced by the title Director of Water Development.[L.N. 279/1964]IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 47 of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, the President hereby declares that, for the purposes of all written laws, the title of Crown Counsel and Senior Crown Counsel shall, with effect from the 12th December 1964, be replaced by the title State Counsel and Senior State Counsel, respectively.[L.N. 263/1965]IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 47 of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, I, Jomo Kenyatta, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kenya, hereby declare that, for the purposes of all written laws, the title of Chief Fisheries Officer shall be replaced by the title of Director of Fisheries.[L.N. 58/1970]IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 47 of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, I, Jomo Kenyatta, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kenya, hereby declare that, for the purposes of all written laws, the title District Commissioner, Nairobi Area, shall with effect from the 1st June, 1971, be replaced by the title Provincial Commissioner, Nairobi Area.[L.N. 139/1971]IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 47 of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, I, Jomo Kenyatta, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kenya, hereby declare that, for the purposes of all written laws, the title "Chief Statistician" shall, with effect from 1st July, 1972, be replaced by the title "Director of Statistics".[L.N. 137/1972]IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 47 of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, I, Jomo Kenyatta, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kenya, hereby declare that for the purposes of all written laws, the titles "Health Inspector" and "Sanitary Inspector" shall be deemed with effect from the 1st day of January, 1972 to have been replaced by the new title of "Public Health Officer".[L.N. 72/1977]IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 47 of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, I, Daniel Toroitich arap Moi, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kenya, declare that for the purposes of all written laws the title of "Provincial Engineer" in the Ministry of Works shall be replaced by the new title of "Provincial Works Officer".[L.N. 169/1981]IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 47 of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, I, Daniel Toroitich arap Moi, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kenya declare that for the purposes of all written laws, the title "Chief Conservator of Forests" shall be deemed with effect from the 11th of July, 1988 to have been replaced by the new title of "Director of Forestry".[L.N. 351/1989]IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 47 of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, I, Daniel Toroitich arap Moi, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kenya, declare that for the purposes of all written laws, the title "Controller of Inland Revenue" shall be deemed with effect from the 21st August, 1990 to have been replaced by the title of "Commissioner of Inland Revenue".[L.N. 378/1990]IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 47 of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, I, Daniel Toroitich arap Moi, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kenya declare that for the purposes of all written laws, the title "Chief Inspector of Factories" shall be deemed with effect from the 14th December, 1990, to have been replaced by the title of "Director of Occupational Health and Safety Services".[L.N. 514/1990]IN EXERCISE of the powers conferred by section 47 of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, I, Mwai Kibaki, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kenya, declare that for the purposes of all written laws, the title "Deputy Public Prosecutor" shall be replaced by the title "Director of Public Prosecutions".This notice shall be deemed to have come into effect on the 5th December, 1996.[L.N. 71/2005]
